Legacy Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum ‘Legacy’)
Legacy sugar maple have thick, waxy textured leaves, rapid growth rate for a sugar maple, and yellow-orange to orange red fall color in the Midwest. This sugar maple makes beautiful specimen, adaptable to dry conditions and alkaline soils. Great in back yards, parks, estates, farms, golf courses, and where a large specimen is needed.

Nurseryman’s Notes: As famed nurseryman Michael Dirr stated so well, “The true nobility of fall-coloring trees – challenged by many, rivaled by none.” This native cultivar has a moderate growth rate (18″-24″ per year) in adolescence and slows with age. Few pest or disease problems and tolerant of alkaline soils, but prefers acidic soils. This tree has hard wood, and will resist wind and ice damage.
