Cleveland Select Pear (Pyrus calleryana ‘Select’)

Chanticleer Pear (Pyrus calleryana ‘Chanticleer’)

Narrow form is especially good for street tree planting.  The tree is covered by white flowers in spring.  Red to burgundy fall color.  Typically turn 3 to 4 weeks before Bradford.

Mature Height: 30-35′

Mature Spread: 15′

Zone: 4-7

Sunlight: Full sun

Soil Preference: Tolerant to a wide variety of soils

Nurseryman’s Notes: Fast to medium fast growth rate (12″-24″ per year) with spring and fall interest.  Waxy leaves assist the tree with drought tolerance.  Few pest or disease problems and tolerant of tough, clay soils or drier soils.  Does not tend to like soils that are too wet.
